North Peace Savings Community Legacy Fund 2024 Grant Awards
The North Peace Community Foundation is thrilled to announce the following grant awards for the inaugural year of the North Peace Savings Community Legacy Fund:
• Northern Rockies Child Development Association - $25,000 in support of the Northern Rockies Early Learning program
• Fort Nelson Historical Society - $5,000 to support the creation of a Celebration of Lights event
• Fort St. John Association for Community Living - $5,000 to support the creation of a Financial Literacy designed for individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs
• Duncan Cran PAC - $10,000 to assist with the expenses of resurfacing the gymnasium wall
• Fort St. John Public Library Association - $5,000 in support of the 2024 Summer Reading Club

This crucial initiative seeks to extend a helping hand to communities and community-based organizations during the critical evacuation periods, and in facilitating community recovery and resilience in the aftermath of this and future disasters.

Our current board of directors will be selecting up to 3 director candidates for a 3-year term, and up to 7 committee candidates for either 2 or 3-year terms.

Coastal GasLink Creates New Community Fund
The North Peace Community Foundation and Coastal GasLink are excited to announce the establishment of the Coastal GasLink Community Fund initiated with a $50,000 gift, which reflects Coastal GasLink’s ongoing commitment to supporting and investing in the futures of the communities situated along the 670 Km Coastal GasLink route. Coastal GasLink and TC Energy have spent over $11 million in Community Investments & Sponsorships in Northern B.C. supporting local and Indigenous communities along the route.

The North Peace Community Foundation and Interior Savings are excited to announce the creation of the North Peace Savings Community Legacy Fund, a transformative initiative aimed at investing $1,000,000 into community programs and services to foster enduring positive impacts throughout the North Peace and Northern Rockies regions over the next two decades.

100 Women Who Care FSJ Raise $31,100 For Local Community Service Organization
For those that attended the September 26 meeting of 100 Women Who Care Fort St. John, it was an incredible evening filled with excitement and generosity. With nearly 200 women in attendance, far surpassing expectations, the donation amount for the chosen charity was higher than anticipated.
The exciting course of events in regard to the three charities that presented their causes for consideration firstly saw Saplings Mental Health Services receive exceptional support from the women of Fort St. John, winning the majority vote and being rewarded with a $31,100 donation. This amount will undoubtedly make a significant difference in their efforts to support mental health in our community.

North Peace Community Foundation Proudly Supports Fort St. John’s 100 Women Who Care
The North Peace Community Foundation is proud to have partnered with the local organizing committee of 100 Women Who Care in Fort St. John. This partnership will provide a seamless online donation experience for the members. Members can both purchase tickets to one of the 100 Women Who Care meetings and also choose to donate to the 100 Women Who Care fund using the Foundation’s website.

NPCF Delivers $187,500 Through The Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Benefit
Today, the North Peace Community Foundation is pleased to formally announce $187,400 in funding to support three (3) projects in the North Peace and Northern Rockies regions through the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund. The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time investment of $400 million by the Government of Canada to help community service organizations, charities, non-profits, and Indigenous governing bodies located in Canada.

$25,000 to North Peace Community Foundation To Establish The Building a Better Tomorrow Fund by Peace River Hydro Partners
Peace River Hydro Partners, through their employees outstanding commitment to recycling on-site and desire to see their efforts result in a community legacy, have generously gifted the North Peace Community Foundation $25,000 to establish a “Building a Better Tomorrow Fund”. This generous gift will be endowed to provide opportunities for charities and non-profit organizations throughout B.C.’s North Peace Region who are making a difference today and are committed to serving their communities in the future.

$500,000 to North Peace Community Foundation To Create The PETRONAS Sustainable Communities Fund
PETRONAS Energy Canada Ltd. (PETRONAS Canada) has committed $500,000 over five years to the North Peace Community Foundation in support of the community through the creation of the PETRONAS Sustainable Communities Fund. This generous gift will be endowed to provide opportunities for charities and non-profit organizations throughout B.C.’s North Peace Region who are making a difference today and are committed to serving their communities in the future.

The North Peace Community Foundation (NPCF) was established in 2021 to bring together the financial resources of industry, business, families and individuals through grants created by endowed funds for projects and programs that focus on “For the Future of the People” of BC’s North Peace region. The North Peace Community Foundation is pleased to update the community on the significant start-up milestones achieved.

North Peace Community Foundation Hires Executive Director
Following an exhaustive search, the inaugural Board of Directors for the North Peace Community Foundation has announced the hiring of Susan Adams as the Executive Director. Most recently, Susan was the Executive Director of the Downtown Vernon Association and brings a wealth of experience in economic development, community programming and communications.
