Rooted in Resilience: How Coastal GasLink is Powering Community Growth in the North Peace
At the North Peace Community Foundation (NPCF), long-term relationships are planting the seeds for future resilience. One of our newest and impactful collaborations is with Coastal GasLink, whose charitable investment is strengthening communities across the region through the Coastal GasLink Community Fund.
This fund, established through a generous endowment gift from TC Energy, is guided by a deep respect for local voices and a commitment to meaningful community impact. Held and managed by NPCF, the fund provides annual grants that support safety, skills development, and sustainability for the benefit of residents throughout the North Peace.
“Our goal as a community partner is to help build mutually beneficial relationships that address our biggest social challenges, while building strong resilient communities. Through the establishment of the Coastal GasLink Community Fund, TC Energy was able to make a sustainable and lasting impact in the North Peace region. This collaboration serves to remind community members that our TC Energy team is committed to leaving a legacy in Northern B.C. communities in which we live and work. With Coastal GasLink now in operations, we look forward to this ongoing community partnership,” says Heather Desarmia, Lead Community Relations Project Advisor of TC Energy.
The Coastal GasLink Community Fund made its inaugural grants in November 2025 as part of NPCF’s Strong Roots Community Endowment Program. From youth leadership programs to sustainability education and community wellness initiatives, the funded projects reflect a region that is growing stronger, together.
These grants do more than support programs, they reinforce the strong roots of a thriving North Peace. Whether it’s building community safety, supporting lifelong learning, or enhancing environmental care, the fund is contributing to what NPCF calls “social capital”: the connections and supports that help our residents thrive.
“TC Energy and our social impact program, Build Strong, invests in organizations that are vital to our communities and local to our business, such as the North Peace Community Foundation, where every contribution will help develop and grow a stronger and more resilient North Peace region for years to come,” adds Desarmia. “Collaborative partnerships play an important role in securing a vibrant future for communities.”
